Donald Trump’s Statements on a Deal with Iran
Former US President Donald Trump made a series of statements regarding an upcoming deal with Iran and changes in bilateral relations. In a post published on the social network Truth Social, Trump indicated that the signing of an agreement with Iran is «scheduled for tomorrow,» after which «the Strait of Hormuz will be open to all.»
Changing Relations and Nuclear Program
Trump emphasized a significant improvement in relations with Iran compared to previous administrations. He noted that, unlike the «hundreds of billions of dollars» that, according to him, were paid to Iran under the Obama administration, in the current situation «no money will change hands.»
«Our relations with Iran have changed and become much better than under previous administrations. Unlike the hundreds of billions of dollars that Obama paid them, no money will change hands now. In due course, when everything calms down, we will go in, collect this nuclear dust buried deep under granite mountains, mix it, and destroy it – be it in Iran or the USA.»

Trump also stated that Iran «no longer wants nuclear weapons, and they will not have them – neither by purchase, nor by development, nor by any other means.»
Conflicting Information on Signing Date
Information regarding the exact date of the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran remains contradictory. The official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei, denied the possibility of signing an agreement on June 14.
At the same time, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif claims that the signing will take place «in the near future, within 24 hours.»
